I cant believe that it has almost been a month since my last post. I have so many projects and workouts that I can not wait to post. I will finally have some more time this week to get caught up and I can not wait to share them all with you!

Monogram Door Wreath

Okay so this is one of my favorite projects I have done lately. I have a closet full of half finished projects, and projects I haven't started and my goal is to get these projects finished before I start any new ones. This is one of the projects that I finally got around to and I am beyond excited with how it turned out. Here is my Monogram Door Wreath. I hope that you enjoy this post as much as I enjoyed making it.

I got all of my supplies from Hobby Lobby.
What you will need:
Wooden Wreath
Favorite Burlap or Ribbon
Wooden Letter
Paint
Flowers/Decorations
Hot Glue Gun/Hot Glue

I used a white acrylic paint and painted my letter and let it dry while I worked on the wreath.
I bought the long stem flowers that I liked (hobby lobby has them 50% on certain weeks, check your local ads!) I cut the Flower off of the long stems.

 I left a small part of the stem on the flower so that I could stick it down into the wreath to make sure it would stick to the hot glue.
Then I arranged all of the flowers on the wreath how I wanted them before I busted out the hot glue.

Next I took one flower out at a time and hot glued them to the wreath.

  

Once all of my flowers were in place I worked on my ribbon. I was not paying attention when I bought my chevron burlap ribbon and it is wired and it is only printed on one side so I took a different approach to how i made this ribbon, I took a lot of pictures but if you have a better way, or a better tutorial for making a ribbon then by all means go for and share the link because I would love to know. So here is my step by step tutorial...hope you enjoy. 

I cut two pieces of ribbon (one smaller than the other)

 Then I folded the ribbon in half (right sides facing out) and glued them together.

 

Do that to both pieces of the ribbon. The smaller tube will go on top of the larger one. I then cut another small piece of ribbon to make the middle piece to keep the top two ribbons together. I made a tube out of the small piece of ribbon

I then placed this over the big ribbons and glued to the back of the bow.

I cut two small pieces of ribbon for the bottom part of the bow. I cut triangles out of the bottom because i think that it looks cute.

I figured out the angle i wanted these to sit on the bow and glued them to the back of the bow. After I finished the bow I glued it to the top of the wreath and used the wire edges to make it all poofy. 

The very last step is to use your glue gun and glue your letter onto your wreath. I put the glue on the wreath and held my letter there for a few minutes to make sure that the glue properly adhered to my letter.

Chipotle Copy Cat Chicken Burrito Bowl

I was craving Chipotle the other day and I didn't want to drive to go get it so I went to the store and got a few things to try it on my own. This was the first time I have attempted this so if you want to make modifications to it then by all means go for it!


Here is what I used:
Brown Rice
Lime and Cilantro (make their version of cilantro lime rice)
Sweet Corn
Black Beans
Salsa (or tomatoes)
Chicken
Fajita Spice
Guac
 -Avocados
 -Red Onion
 -Tomatoes
 -Salt
 -Lime
 -Cilantro and fresh jalapenos (if you would like)

Guacamole Recipe:
Slice open the avocados, and put into a bowl

Then add half a small lime (i like a lot of lime juice)

Add about 1/2 tsp of salt (can add more at the end)

Mash the avocados to the chunkiness you desire. 

 

Slice the tomatoes, red onion, jalapenos and cilantro and add into the bowl and fold into the guac.

Taste the guac, add more salt or lime if you desire.

I heated up the corn and black beans on the stove top while the rice was cooking. 

To make the chicken I thawed out my chicken, cut into bite size pieces, put a little extra virgin olive oil in the skillet and began to cook my chicken. I followed the rest of the directions on the back of the fajita seasoning.

I added the rice, then corn, black beans, chicken, some salsa and topped it off with guac. I love this Chipotle Copy Cat Recipe and I hope you do it.

Headband/Hair Clip Holder

This is one of my favorite and quick projects I have done. If you know me then you know I have a slight obsession with Headband and Hair Clips. Well being a college student I needed a spot to organize all of these. I came across this redo on Pinterest and couldn't wait to get started. Here is a link to the tutorial I used.

Need:
2 Rolls of Ribbon, Varying in width
Frame (I got mine from the Dollar Tree)
Paper or Fabric (I used Burlap)
Glue Gun

Directions:
Take out the glass frame, glue the fabric or paper to the background of the frame. Wrap the Vertically around the frame and glue. Put the back onto frame and secure. I glued two strands of ribbon to each of the top corners and just tied into a pretty bow (this is what I hung it from). For the Bottom Strands I used my thicker ribbon. I have a lot of headbands so to make mine more durable I cut three strands of ribbon to the length I wanted. I then cut 30 Smaller Strands of ribbon. I started at the bottom and created all the loops and glued them together going up the strands. Once I had all the loops on the strands I glued the strands to the back of the frame.
Here is the final product being put to use.

Broken Makeup, No Problem

I use to always dreaded picking up makeup when I dropped it. Bronzer, Powder, Eye Shadow..well there is a simple fix. Isopropyl Alcohol.

Instructions:
Take your shattered Make-Up

and break it up even more..yes I know it sounds crazy but do it. Once your makeup is broken up, take your isopropyl alcohol and pour into your broken makeup.Use just enough alcohol to get your makeup wet. Use your fingers, or a spoon and mash/press the makeup back into shape. Once you have it in shape use your spoon or finger and smooth the makeup. Let it dry overnight.

Boom...its fixed and ready for use again.
No this does not smell like alcohol or harm the makeup. It dries right out.

Wreaths

Some of the Wreaths I have created over the past couple years. The next wreath I make I will post step by step instructions.

Vegtable Beef Soup

Tonight for Dinner I used one of my good friends recipes for Vegetable Beef Soup and I made a few modifications for my liking.

Ingredients:
1 Box of Noodles (Elbow or Shells)
1 can of Veg-All
1 can of Sweet Corn
1 can of Sliced Carrots
1 can of Peas
1 can of Diced Tomatoes
1 Large Bottle of Low Sodium V8
1/2 Yellow Onion
4 Cloves Garlic
Stew Meat
Garlic Powder
Salt and Pepper

Directions:
Boil and cook the shells Only about 2/3 of the normal time. Add meat, garlic and diced onion in saute pan and cook meat almost through. In the crock pot add V8, Veg-All, Corn, Carrots, Peas, Tomatoes, Noodles and meat. Season with garlic powder and salt and pepper. Put on the lid and cook on high for 2.5 hours.
